ABOUT ME
Who am I and what am I doing currently?

I am an automotive graduate student at Clemson University with a bachelor's degree in Automobile Engineering from Anna University, Chennai, India. Currently, I am working as a Research Assistant at the Clemson Composites Center where we design, develop, analyze, and manufacture different composite parts focussed mainly on lightweighting components to be used in future vehicles.

How I got here?

My journey can be traced back to the end of my schooling when I decided Mechanical Engineering will be my core area of study thereafter. Through courses like Engineering Mechanics, Strength of Materials, Mechanics of Machines, participation in competitions like Formula Bharat, and working as a research intern at Ashok Leyland, I was able to develop skills that brought me to this amazing space dedicated solely for Automotive Research. During the course of my master's studies, I have worked on multiple research projects involving the use of software such as Solidworks, Moldex3D, ANSYS Workbench, Hyperworks, MATLAB, Minitab, and Siemens (LMS) Testlab.

Where am I looking to go next?

I have a strong understanding of Finite Element Analysis, Manufacturing and Testing methods used in the industry and have experience working with CAD Modeling, FEA simulations, and Quality control methods. I will be graduating in August 2021 and I am looking for full-time opportunities to kickstart my career in the Automotive/ Mechanical and Industrial domains.
ACHIEVEMENTS
30%
Re-engineered a complete modular frontal impact test rig which improved the bending performance by 10% thereby eliminating rework after every test, cutting down the budget of each test by 30%.
20%
Employed mass-optimization methods in a tubular space frame resulting in a weight reduction of 10% with an increase in stiffness by 20%.
15%
Minimized short shot and flashing in injection molded parts by optimizing shot volume and packing pressure which reduced the error percentage by 15%.
10%
Reduced the cycle time of the injection molding process by 10% by optimization through simulation.
$15000 SAVED
Optimized vacuum brazing and heat-treating process using Lean Methodologies resulting in a reduction in rework or rejection of parts worth $15000 every month.
