BIW MODAL ANALYSIS
About
A shaker modal analysis test was conducted on a Honda Civic Body-in-White structure using triaxial accelerometers and an electrodynamic shaker.
Data was collected and analyzed for mode shape information, drive point measurement, and reciprocity in the frame.
The Siemens (LMS) Testlab software was extensively used to analyze the data for mode shape information, drive point measurement, and reciprocity in the frame.
ACCELEROMETER AND SHAKER LOCATIONS
This picture shows the various locations on the BIW structure where the accelerometers were placed to map the first bending and torsion mode shapes accurately. An electrodynamic shaker was used to induce vibrations at different frequencies onto the frame.
SOFTWARE VERSION OF ACCELEROMETER LOCATIONS
This gives a view of the measurement locations on all parts of the BIW structure.
FIRST ROOF MODE
This is an example of the first roof mode we got from the Modal Analysis software.
